iPod Help - purchased songs play on Mac, not on iPod

Hi all,

I only have a couple dozen songs purchased from iTunes, and until recently they played fine. Now, however, they won't play on my iPod -- when I start the "purchased songs" playlist, the iPod just skips through them one by one quickly. They're still playable on the the Mac via iTunes.

Any clue what the problem is? TIA for any help.
