someone help, just got a charger of ebay for my macbook 2007 and when i shuved it in it says "battery is not charging" in the battery icon and the power light is green instead of orange.

but when i take the power lead out the battery works fine and says how much time is left on it. and when i press the button on the battery it lights up with green lights.

things i tried so far:

- i tried taking battery out and back in when laptop is on
- done update software
- i switched it off and held power button for 10 seconds

dont know what else to try so i came on here, anyone? :(

Bold, without the charger connected?
And with the battery removed?

From Apple's site:

Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
Resetting the SMC on Mac portables with a battery you can remove

Note: Learn about removing the battery on MacBook and MacBook Pro.
Shut down the computer.
Disconnect the MagSafe power adapter from the computer, if it's connected.
Remove the battery.
Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
Release the power button.
Reconnect the battery and MagSafe power adapter.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.

No you didn't, MacMan45 also points you to it, you did not say you removed the battery AND the cord.

Now, it seems to me you got a cheap charger from Ebay which can not deliver the power for both operating the MacBook AND charging at the same time, send it back if you can.

Or, did you have the same problem before?
If that is the case there is more going on and running AHT would be a good idea.
