So I recently bought Final Cut Studio 2 academic version for the discounted price pretty much on impulse because it was so much cheaper than the retail.

HOWEVER, I found out that the academic version has some major disadvantages that makes it feel like I've purchased an expensive pirated copy of FCS (no upgrade path, extremely limited licensing regarding distribution and making a profit off of video work). I'm beginning to wonder whether I should return my academic version (I have not opened anything yet) and just save up until I can get the retail.

But then again, there is the point that FCS 2 will be good for at least the next 2 1/2 years...maybe it is worth it to keep?

I don't know, please tell me what you think!
