Good day,

I am looking for a setup/equipment I need in order to record a person giving a fitness class. Currently using a Logitech C922x Pro Stream Webcam 1080p, macbook pro and wireless headset with a USB receiver and recording locally using Zoom meeting.

How can I upgrade my setup? That webcam keep autofocusing and as soon as you move within a fitness class so it becomes blurry.

Also, should I be using any other software to record locally instead of using "internet" Zoom?

I thought about using a DSLR and that wireless headset but I honestly will leave my project in your hands and let you recommend me what I should be doing ;)

It has to be able to record for 1 hour.

These videos, will be uploaded online for viewing by members of the site.

Thanks so much! :)

I think that Zoom recording may be the main problem. I have been using it recently to record several remote interviews, and tried several different methods: record locally, record to the cloud, record from the screen using Camtasia. Universally, they were awful. And this is for talking heads.

So the first thing I would try is to use Quicktime Player to record. This will make a local copy. It will be very large.

If the webcam autofus is an issue, the next thing I would try for a task like this is any camcorder, including mirrorless or DSLR. If you wanted to record the entire class (multiple people) GoPro 4K.

Thank you! Yes Zoom is very flaky...
DSLR seems to be limited to around 30 minutes unless a custom firmware is loaded on them. :/
Regarding Quicktime, I don't think I can select a custom source for the video and another custom source for the audio, unless I missed the option ;)
