help reformating

I just bought a used MBP and i want to reformat because I don't want the previous owners crap... I don't have the original cd boot so can I still reformat or should I just restore to factory setting..

By the way all of the previous files are deleted but I just want it completely clean.... Please help!!!

I'd call up Apple and see if they can send you the original system discs. It might be a lot cheaper then buying a Leopard disc.

I'd never buy a computer without the operating system discs in my opinion.
