The short question:
How do I make hidden files on CDs (i.e. PC game discs) viewable to other applications?
The long question:
I'm using CrossOver Games for Mac in order to install a program using Wine and all that. The trick is, though, that when I try to locate the setup.exe file that is on the CD (which IS viewable using the "defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE" terminal command), the "Choose Installer File" option does not see the aforementioned setup file.
I've already tried doing the express option (just letting it find the file itself), but I have a feeling that the file it's locating is incorrect, as the installer never finishes correctly.
I'm not even really sure if it's possible to make other apps see hidden folders or files, since this has never been an issue for me... I also know that deciding which OS to run the bottle (Windows 98, 2K, XP, etc) can have an impact on which installer file it chooses, but the game in question is built for 95 and when I choose 98 as the bottle type, the installer indicates that it has finished, but it actually hasn't, as no program shows up.
I know that this is a really multi-pronged question, and I'm not sure if this was the right place to post it, but hopefully one of y'all can help me out.
Thanks,
Alex
