Hello 🙂

Much information is currently held in my Apple iCloud. My iMac hard drive has been erased and a fresh install of macOS Ventura effected by using Internet Recovery. What is the best/quickest means of transferring all the data from the iCloud onto the iMac?

Help/advice will be much appreciated.

Sign on to your iCloud account, and uncheck "Optimise" will ensure full size copies of all your iCloud docs will be downloaded, if there is enough space on your internal drive.

Uncheck Optimise is found in Settings > your name > iCloud > Drive. and looks like this:

For good measure you can check in your iCloud Drive folder and check that all items have a grey circle with a down arrow inside which means you have requested it to "Keep Downloaded". Not sure how necessary this step is if you have Optimise off.

It took me a while to realise that you had switched to a 'Finder' view!
So far, I haven't noticed any "grey circles with a down arrow inside". Maybe it's just a matter of time.

Yes it may take some time, and may not be necessary. The "keep downloaded" option is new in Sequoia and I am unclear on its purpose if "optimise" is off.
The progress downloading from iCloud is indicated by a small circular progress icon next to iCloud Drive in the side bar. Clicking on this shows a progress bar. You need to hover to see a tick if it has completed.

Thanks for your help, Mike. 🙂
