Help resetting iPhone 4.

Hey all. I'm new and I'm losing my mind.

My phone won't boot for some reason. It will get to the Apple logo, but freeze. I've tried connecting it to iTunes and have it restore, but that's not working either. For some reason, when the iPhone Update downloads, it says that the connection error has timed out. I've been trying all day, and been getting the same error.

Ugh. Please help.

Thanks Applejuiced, that helped me put the phone in DFU mode, but I'm still getting the connection error message. My computer is plugged into my cable modem, so I don't know why I'm getting this message.

Have you tried rebooting your computer?

Or try restoring it on another computer.
