I want to completely restore a jailbroken and unlocked iPhone 3G. I get the 1015 error. I have tried multiple programs and button patterns, but still get the error at the end of restoring :(

If your stuck on the bootup from a jailbroken phone. you need to disable cydia forwarding with a free program called tiny umbrella. look up tiny umbrella configurations for 4.2.1 firmware.

When I first got it I automatically tried the iTunes restores without putting it into any "mode" which I believe messed it up. I can't get past the iTunes USB screen. Tiny Umbrella said Invalid, under device model. I don't care about restoring firmware from jailbreaks and such. TU only allows me to "exit recovery mode" but as of now my iPhone is inoperable.

No download tiny umbrella. Click advanced. Unclick request ssh from Cydia.
Also unclick overwrite existing shsh files on save shsh.

Restart tiny umbrella.

If that doesn't work. Download cracked shsh files and run the tss server in the tiny umbrella options
