I have a feeling I already know the answer to this, but......

I was typing an email in gMail that was pretty long and important. For some reason gMail wasn't properly connecting, or something, because the autosave wasn't working*. So no matter how many times I hit "save now" it apparently never saved and when I closed my browser it disappeared.

I'd really like it back, though I have a feeling it's lost in the ether. But is it possible to find a keystroke history or something in OSX and piece together a working version of what I typed? I'd appreciate any suggestions.

(*For those of you who don't believe this happened the way I describe--I can't explain it either. Here's what I did notice, though I realized what it meant too late: gMail kept trying to login to chat, with no success; the status bar said "Loading..." forever. I didn't really remark upon it at the time but I now believe gMail might not have been connected for some reason. Maybe my internet connection, but everything else seemed to be working.)
