help, safari has completely packed up on me!

probably within the last wk or so, I've noticed that any time I've tried to load a forum thread or any kind of page with a lot of pictures, I would get a freaking beach ball, resulting in a force quit. Now, safari has completely packed up. The app has become very tempermental and freezes when I try to open it. I've zapped the pram, repaired permissions and rebooted the computer numerous times. even reinstalling safari doesn't help. Any have any ideas? Thanks

delete the preference file, and if you can get it to launch go Safari>> Reset Safari...

are you up to date? check by opening Software Update from the Apple Menu. recent Safari updates have made it more stable.

permissions are usually the "fix all" lol
