hi i hope you can help me solve this problem
i am having problems connecting the remote app(itunes does not see my ipad) , airplayer (same) and file sharing (imac seems to be invisible) to my imac
my imac has always had problems letting other devices connecting to it , i have a belkin wireless router and thought it was that but having been in contact with them they say that the settings are ok , which leaves me thinking now the problems are on my imac

im running 10.6.5 and have file sharing enabled

any help will be much appreciated

thanks in advance

Go to System Preferences --> Security --> Firewall --> Advanced

Make sure that
'Block all incoming connections' is unchecked
'Enable Stealth mode' is unchecked

That's probably why your iMac isn't seeing or allowing any connections to it. Stealth mode make the computer like a black hole on a network.
