I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing this problem; When my old iPhone 6 is completely powered off I need to press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for about 2 second to turn on the device. But on my new iPhone 8+ I briefly press the sleep/wake for less than a second then it powers on and Apple logo appears. Is my iPhone 8 plus defective? Have they made the new iPhone easier to power on?

Mine is behaving as expected - so a couple of seconds to go to switch off or on mode. In touch just switches the screen off.

Thanks. Guess it's time for a trip to Apple store. I talked to an apple specialist over the phone, and he said it's completely normal... but I doubt it, unless it's a design flaw. Sometimes I like to power off the device completely to conserve battery, but an accidental light touch to the power button turn it back on:mad:

If you have the phone plugged in to power, that is normal behavior.

I think it's normal. Mine does it too. When it's at the off state. I just press and release the side button and it shows the apple logo instantaneously.

Mine is the same and I consider it normal.

Why are you turning your phone off to conserve power. Your phone should last all day with out turning anything off. Just charge at night while sleeping.
