This thread was started after I read the bootcamp and non efi card thread. Thought I'd ask for help.
Hoping someone can point me in the correct direction. I now have parralels 8, with windows 8, running on my 2009 Mac Pro 10.8.2. Quadro 4000mac video card.
Prior to moving up to ML (this is a clean install, not an upgrade), I tried using bootcamp, to install windows 8.
Issue 1.
Everything went ok with the initial install. Then I restarted holding the option key, and chose my OS X volume. From there it wouldn't boot back to the Mac side. If I remember correctly, I got a panic kernel mi ended up having to reformat and reinstall.
Issue 2
When I started the bootcamp procedure, I downloaded and created a disk for apple drivers. When I ran this disk in windows, it loaded an nvidia driver, restarted, and after a certain point in the windows boot, screens went black (kind of flashing a little, and if I hit the mouse enough, the pointer would show).
I tried this 2 ways. Using the apple Windows driver disk, and going straight to nvidia and downloading drivers.
Problem with downloading from their site, I don't know which drivers I'm suppose to get for quadro 4000 Mac. I tried using the windows version quadro 4000 drivers. Same thing happen blank screen.
Paralles is working great, but I'd really like to get bootcamp going.
Any advice you can give me? I haven't tried since installing ML, but the booting back into OS X kind of three me off. Also which drivers for windows do I need for a quadro 4000 Mac card?
Thanks,
Jef
