Help: Slow Text/Keyboard?

I have had a Mac Pro (2.0GHZ+ 1GB of Ram) for a while now, I have been using NeoOffice for writing. The problem I am having is that I am finding the typing to be slow & difficult. I feel there is a pause between what I am typing and it showing up on the screen, is this common?

Is this NeoOffice, the Keyboard (Apple - Not the New One)? Would switching to MS Office help?

I have this same quirk on my mini core duo 1.8, i think its just a neo office thing...

Is it only in NeoOffice where the typing is slow?

If so, then go to the NeoOffice site and look into some support articles there. Since NeoOffice runs in Java, maybe there is a Java issue with your machine?

K, the Keyboard setting is set to the right-most option.

I will look into NeoOffice support, however as a test I what other program should I be using to test out writing text?

Anything really. Just typing in this form on the website.....is it slow?

How about TextEdit? What about writing a email in your mail client?

Basically, if text types normal everywhere except NeoOffice, it's either a NeoOffice problem...or I'm guessing might be a Java (although I don't use NeoOffice so I'm not an expert in it).
