I have just received my Snow Leopard but I cannot install it. My specification is MAC OS X version 10.5.8 Processor 2GHZ Intel core duo. Memory 512mb 607 MHZ DDR2 SD ram. What is missing and how can I amend it without too much cost to enable me to install it

Did you read the specs on SL?

You don't say what kind of machine you have. It's very easy to replace RAM in a Mac Pro or an iMac. The Mini definitely requires at least a little willingness to take your box apart. I'm not sure about MacBooks, since I don't have one.

But 512 MB is hardly enough to even run Leopard well, let alone Snow Leopard, even if you're not doing any intensive graphics. So I would highly recommend at least 2 GB of RAM, regardless of which OS you end up using.
