HELP! Solid state scroll wheel button mapping

i have the logitech v500 cordless mouse. i love this mouse its size, and its looks, it has on HUGE flaw. i need expose on my mouse, i need it. i also need left and right button. now, i can use usb overdrive on the other logitech mouse that i have, to remap the left and right scroll to be a button, why can i not do it with the solid state scroll wheel? is there anything i can do to make it work. please help guys, im going nuts
