iPod touch Help Stuck cant restore ipod 2g

i was trying to restore ipod touch 2g then i accidently closed itunes! now its in safe mode when i try to restore it it just says preparing for restore forever then says cannot restore error 1603 help please

Try this: Have it plugged into the computer, hold down the lock button _ the home button for a little bit. (Should turn off/restart).
If iTunes recognizes it just go through the retore process again. (It will probably ask you to restore it anyway because it's in safe mode.

Tell me if that works or not.
