I just got my iPad mini like a week ago (iOS 7.1.1, 1st gen 16GB WiFi) and I'm all new to jailbreaking. So, I installed all these tweaks and it was working great. Today, I fired up Clash of Clans and put the iPad into Guided Access mode (blocks exiting the current app) and handed it to someone else.
When I got it back I triple-clicked the home button to exit Guided Access, put in the passcode, and then things just went downhill from there. Immediately after the passcode I hit the home button (to go to the home screen of course). CoC completely locked up. I was unable to go home, open app switcher, or even lock the screen. I held down the power button for a few seconds and rotated the screen. The power off screen was showing, cut off most of the way so only the Cancel button was visible. I hit cancel and locked my screen. When I turned it back on, CoC was still blocking the screen...so I couldn't enter my passcode.
"No problem! Just do a hard reset..."
A hard reset later I am stuck. It won't boot. It goes to the apple logo, trying to boot normally. A few moments later, the screen blacks out and and the Apple logo shows again.
When plugged into a computer, it will continously chirp as if power was connected (suggesting a respring loop NOT a reboot loop). Aaaaaaahhhh!!!!
I DO NOT have OpenSSH or Apple File Conduit...but it DOES recognize in iTunes in DFU and sometimes normal mode.
I MIGHT have an idea of what caused it: I was installing Apple File Conduit "2" so I could have a way to fix any future issues, and I hit home while installing. I never came back to Cydia to hit Restart Springboard...and I heard that can cause issues.
Is there any possible way I can get it working WITHOUT a complete restore? If I have to restore is there ANY WAY I can at least write down what tweaks I have installed/what preferences? I do have an iCloud backup but not a tweak backup.
Here's what I tried:
- Volume up button while rebooting... didn't help
- Used a utility I found called "Make No-Erase IPSW" and patched the iOS 7.1.1 IPSW with that and restored... that didn't work
Please help!
