Ok I've searched and searched and can't find a solution, so here I am.

iPhone 3G
iPad Baseband
iOS 4.2.1
Windows 7

-------

Initially the 3G had 4.1, it was not unlockable at this point so I upgraded to 4.2.1 when the redsn0w and ultrasn0w came out.

But When I try to restore I get error 1015. I restored again and still got 1015. I read (elsewhere) just continue with the redsn0w jailbreak process. I did, but after selecting to install iPad Baseband (necessary for unlocking) the process gets stuck on "Installing Activation Bundles". Now I'm stuck in recovery mode and the Jailbreak process isn't completed.

This never happened before.

Help?

Obviously you didn't search enough. The answers are the thread around yours...

You can no longer restore to official 4.2.1 thru iTunes since you attempted to JB using Redsn0w. It will keep giving you the 1015 error...

U must have included the iPad baseband when JB. Download the 4.2 bundle from Dev team blog. drop that in the Pwnage tool folder then create a custom 4.2 FW with Pwnage. This is what you are going to use to when you restore thru iTunes. Then you can use Redsn0w to JB.

Thanks for trying to help; but isn't Pwnage only available for Macs?

The only bundles on the dev team site in the most recent post are both specifically for the 3gs. Where are you seeing 3g bundles?

As far as I can determine once you have put 4.2.1 on a 3G with ipad baseband, should you need to restore again you are going back to 4.1. Doesn't seem to be a way to put 4.2.1 on again, even when generating an pwnagetool custom firmware file for 4.2.1 and using redsn0w to jailbreak it.

I'm having the same issue. What exactly are the steps for the custom firmware, having the same problem. already downloaded sn0wbreeze 2.2.1 and iPhone2,1_4.2.1_8C148a_Restore for my 3GS. When I launch sn0wbreeze what do I have to do? Thanks!!
