help stuck on apple screen

so my phone died ,so i charged it but now i cant get past the apple logo ,
so i did the recovery mode thing , itunes saw it n i went into recover mode and i updated it , updated was done , but now i CAN NOT get pass the apple logo , back to square - one ,


ANY HELP . IM SO LOST

Were you jailbroken? What firmware are you on?

If you can get it into DFU mide do a restore. But you may need to boot via redsn0w if you are on a teathered jailbreak.

1. Download 3GS 4.1 firmware to your computer.
2. Download Tiny Umbrella to your computer
3. Hook your Iphone to your computer and turn it off.
4. Put your phone into DFU mode.
5. Itunes will tell you that your Iphone is in recovery mode and need to restore, hit okay, then shift + restore (if you have PC) or Option + restore (if you have Mac), then point it to 4.1 firmware.
6. At the end of restoring process, Itunes will give you the 1015 error, use Tiny umbrella to exit recovery.
7. Your Iphone will boot up to emergency call screen or activation screen.
8. Use Redsn0w to hactivate & jailbreak your phone.
9. Install Ultrasn0w to unlock your phone.
