It's been almost over 6 month, I didn't run "Disk Utility" on my Early 2006 Tiger MacBook.

As of tonight, I I just run "Verify Disk" .... FAILED to complete.
So it won't let me click "Repair Disk" (inactive; no way to click).

That means I have to use my Tiger DVD boot up from superdrive!

Problem is my superdrive has been not responding at all for a couple of month.
Since I don't use it at all, I didn't care.

... but now I need to run my Tiger original DVD

What should I do?

Please let me know how to proceed to repair my HD without using superdrive as it is not working. Any alternative?

You can use an external usb dvd rom, or you can boot in single user mode and do it (I think the command you must type is printed on the screen when you boot into single user mode)

But if your superdrive is shot, an usb one isn't that expensive and if you need to read cd/dvd's
