Help- The Finder has falln off the Dock!

I would be greatful for any advise.

Somehow the finder (the little square smiley face) has fallen off the dock and I can no longer click it to open the finder- I use the finder all the time.

I don't know what I did, I think i dragged it off by mistake now I can't drag it, click it-although I can see it.

It's not actually possible to drag it off the dock Unless you have TinkerTool or something similar. I think just restarting your mac will fix the problem.

Jasonbot's got a point.

It's only possible to remove it from the dock with a custom app - you also have to quit the finder, which doesn't usually last long..

Restart your computer, see what happens then. If it's still gone, but you can see the icon, as you say in your first post, see if you can make a screenshot and post it for us to see what's going on.

The same thing happened to me! But after I restarted it was back on the dock. It was weird, it wouldn't let me pick it up.
