Hello,
I am looking for a camcorder to replace my dying VHS-C one (which was never too alive in the 1st place). This would me mostly for filming my kids, when we go on vacation, etc., nothing fancy.
Currently I am mostly using the video capabilities of my digital camera, which is easy to use, but the image is not too good. However, it has the big advantage of being always available when we need it. The camcorder has better image, but it always has battery problems, needs charging, and then we need to check that we're not filming on top of already filmed tape... kind of inconvenient.
In summary, my needs are:
1) no need for high definition, just regular TV definition
2) non-tape storage, with recording time of 1/2 hour or so before having to replace the card / disk storage
3) reasonable battery life
4) has analog input (I want to digitize my old VHS-C tapes)
5) can connect more or less easily to a MacBook
6) cheap
Not sure where to look for this information -- I went to Amazon, but didn't find the descriptions there to be useful.
Thanks in advance,
Hernan
