We are in a bit of a pinch and have tried to self solve. We had our third iMac HDD failure ( three DIFFERENT machines ) all thermal failures , although this one is...different and naturally it's the one that has some files we need .
We used Time machine for backing up data and we are trying to repopulate the emails in Thunderbird. We cannot find the individual user profiles anywhere and this is where we are stuck. We have found the Backup of the Tbird program but cannot find the individual account backups. Any insight would be appreciated .
As the machine sits now here are the particulars not sure you need all this data but in case any of it is beneficial I will include it now
Hardware Late 2015 27" iMac i7, 32 gig ram, 4 gig GPU
OSX Big Sur 11.1, email client is Thunderbird , backup was TIme Machine , what I don't know is what OSX I had on the Machine prior to HDD failure and that drive is dead in a way I have not personally experienced so short of going to DriveSavers I don't see a path to getting at that data... thank you all for any input you are able to share.
Just to be clear we can see the Tbird backup but cannot get to the archives of individual users.
Thank you all very much

Have you tried Thunderbird support? That might be a better resource than MacRumors since the locations are Thunderbird, not Mac, specific.
