I started a new Time Machine backup on a new external drive and tried to erase the backup from the old drive. Problem is I keep getting a error message that I do not have permission to remove the files when I drag the entire .backupsdb folder to the trash.

I use this drive for my movies and can't format it to get rid of the backups. My Mac is pointed to the new drive and I need help erasing this please.

thanks.
