Hello! I've been reading through these fantastic forums and am hoping you all can help a newbie with an iPhone/sync issue.
I am sure I've seen this question before, but for the life of me I can't seem to understand or properly follow the advice given to others. So here goes:
I have an iPhone 4, and just got a new laptop today (Windows 7)- to replace my old crashed computer. I want to sync and update my iPhone but don't want to lose everything on it if the blank iTunes overrides the phone. My old computer with all my iTunes info is inaccessible, so I'm working with just my phone and the new PC.
How do I transfer or sync all of my iPhone info to the new laptop/iTunes?
So far, what I've done is:
1) Downloaded the latest iTunes to the new laptop
2) Disabled the automatic sync option in iTunes
3) Did a backup of the phone on iTunes
4) Authorized my new computer on iTunes for my existing iTunes account
But I have yet to do a sync, nor have I updated my iPhone with the latest software update, for fear of it wiping the phone clean.
Can someone please guide me on the next steps?
