Here's the deal:

I've been trying to add 3 different repos and i keep getting this error:

Now, earlier today i added various repos just fine, but now i just keep getting this. Even with the bitesms repo that i had added earlier. Any ideas on what it is and how to fix it, or its just a problem with Cydia at the moment?

I get these errors all the time. Here's how to take em out.

1. Download MobileTerminal and Cyfix from Cydia
2. Open MobileTerminal and type "su" without the quotes
3. It will ask you for a password so put "alpine" without the quotes
4. Next, type "cyfix" without the quotes
5. Enter the URL that is in the error.
6. It will eliminate the repo that is causing you the error.

...without the quotes.:eek::cool:

Thanks for the reply man, but i can't find cyfix in Cydia and it doesn't let me add any sources because of the error.

Any other way to fix this or to fin Cyfix?

BTW, Mobile terminal its crashing on opening

you can use ifile ---> /etc/apt/sources.listed/ and open cydia.list with ifiles text viewer (set permissions first) and delete the specific offending source from the list. save. i had to do this for the old ispazio.net which didn't show up in the cydia source page but was giving errors.

on a side note, it's too bad ifunbox/iphone browser/etc can't set permissions for those of us that can't access wi fi and would like a free solution to this type of editing, but ifile is definitely worth buying after the trial period

just be careful when doing this, editing sources can make cydia a god damn nightmare, I'm very hesitant to add any sources because last time I got stuck in an endless loop of errors and had to rejailbreak

using a file browser like ssh/scp, Ifunbox, Ifile, iphone browser etc etc....

go to /usr/lib/apt/methods and copy http paste it and rename it to Http

You need to add the xsellize repo to get cyfix.

I know, but Cydia won't let me add it because of the error.

i used ifile but i can't find the damn source off the error, I tried going to Cydia sources in ifile and nothing. Also tried going to the file that the error points at, and nothing either.

Anyways, I just decided to restore and re-jailbreak hoping that this fix it.

Thanks for the help anyways.

Update
During the restore got the 1004 error and had to kick if out of recovery mode using recboot, just to complement things.

Thanks for the help anyways

Thats what I thought might to the trick but wasn't sure and i didn't dare to do it, so i just restore it. Thanks anyways.
