Guys,

I'm a big blues-rock guitar fan, so I jumped at the chance to get the new "Martin Scorsese presents the Blues--Jimi Hendrix" CD this weekend (check out the upcoming 7 films on PBS that start this weekend if you like the blues. There are also 25, yes 25, CD's being released in conjunction with this project).

Anyway, I've tried to burn copies for myself with both a friend's PC (Roxio Toast) and my Mac G4 (iTunes), but neither works. With both the program quite shortly into the burn process. I've used iTunes for years with virtually no problems.

I'm thinking this CD may have some copyright protection on it that's causing this. I consider this a violation of the "Fair Use" copyright rule that clearly states that the owner of a legally purchased copy has the right to make copies for himself.

I've read about how Sony has put this stuff on CD's to make it hard to burn copies, but this is an MCA disc.

I routinely like to take my favorite cuts off CD's and mix them with other favorite tracks from other CD's. Or change the order of the tunes. This is frustrating. If you've got any ideas, please let me know, by private e-mail if you prefer (tedlyflyfisher@netscape.net). Thanks, guys and gals.
