Hello everyone,
I previously had success in installing a CISS (Wiki article about CISS) in my Epson NX420. My Dad needed a new printer, so I kept my eye out for one.
The other day I found a similar Epson model at a local thrift store, an Epson NX515. I ordered the CISS system off eBay for it, and when it arrived I installed it. Originally I was getting okay prints, with the exception that it would only print red or sometimes blue. (see the 3rd photo below, ignore the dots, that happened after it printed)
So I "primed" the ink tanks, so there are no air bubbles in the system. It seems that all the colors are now flowing...
However, Now I have a different issue. (see the photo below, middle) I am getting bands of color. I tried to clean the head, but I read I should only do this 2-3 times for a few hours, as it can be counter-productive. I tried to manually clean the nozzles as well. I printed afterwards, however the instructions said to let it sit and dry, so maybe that's the issue...
Any advice or ideas? The photo on the left is the original, I used the photo copy function on the printer to receive the middle photo. If you look closely you can see that all the colors are being used, but they are all messed up.
Any advice would be great, thanks!
Update: The second photo also shows a color pattern print... notice the doubling of text?
