HELP ! - Trying to use online backup service, but having trouble with their software

Been trying different online backup programs, but hit a glitch when installing programs.

SafeCopy gives me an - Install Failed - The Installer could not write the receipt for "safecopyPostflight".

I also get a could not write Receipt Error, when I try to install Carbonite.

I called Tech Support for both companies, they had others that had same problems, but other than wipe the drive and start with a fresh OS X install, offered no solution.

Can Anyone HELP me with this one?
