i was one of the lucky ones to get my gold iPhone 5s unlocked from ebay but recently my phone was stolen my replacement phone is on its way (insurance) does this mean i loose my unlock features since its a new phone

You can try but it was an unauthorized unlock and the requirements were not met.
I wouldn't tell them you unlocked it on eBay and expect them to help you.
