Hello guys, I stumbled upon Macrumors and I see there are chances I can get some help regarding my problem.

I have an iphone 3G that bought unlocked and last year I jailbroke it using quicksnow under windows vista. My actual firmware is 2.2.1 (5H11) and would like to upgrade it to 3.0.x (I know I must not try update to 3.1.3, since I have read about the risks).

Is there a chance for me to access any step-by-step guide on how to proceed? I have found many but are not especifically devoted to this issue and don't wanna mess it up. Take into account I am not very good at this hacking stuff... and of course the piece doesn't come cheap hehe.

I would also require some comments on how to backup my iphone info in the process, or can this be done just by backuping via iTunes?

I'd very much appreciate any help. Thanks a lot for reading me and being patient... (also please excuse my lame English)

Matt

PS: also will appreciate any tips regarding if it's worth for me to do this or if I better wait for some quicksnow update or something. My phone is working very well so far and don't want to brick it...!
