So, my first iPhone, the original iPhone 2G that i once loved so much got broken... few years ago... About a week ago I decided to go out and buy a soldering iron and fix it. obviously, i succeeded. BUT there was one little(HUGE) problem: I totally forgot the passcode i've set on it. Like the last dumbpumkin-head I decided to use up all my tries, and now it's disabled and asks for iTunes. I'm sure the info is still there, but I know if i connect to iTunes and do what it wants me to do I will sure enough lose all my data (most importantly-pictures). I heard that the Ubuntu distr. 12.04 can mount it no matter what and i would be able to get my pictures, but NO, dammit. nothing, same message as Windows "this iPhone is locked.. blahblahblah..."
If anyone can help, i will be very very thankful ,because no one, NO ONE AT ALL has been able to help me, and i've asked a lot of people about my problem.
So, my dear Mac-ers, with that being said, I send this and pray to god someone knowledgeable enough will get in touch with me.

You totally just forgot your passcode.
Sure, happens all the time to legit iPhone users:rolleyes:
Just restore it with iTunes.

OKAY I GET IT BUT I NEED THOSE PHOTOS!!!:(:(:(:( I can't just restore it, it will delete all my pictures and music i cant lose all that... :'(

How come your so desperate to get those photos now? As you said, the phone has been broken for years. If you hadn't managed to fix it you wouldnt have got them back anyway.

I think you can get data off phones which have bootrom exploits, which the iPhone 2G does

If it's something i can do i'm willing to try, i really need those pictures.

yeah, but i found it and fixed it, so now i realized that i can get all the memories back if i succeed with the phone

LMAO no, it's my pictures from summer and pictures of a girl i like

Summer 2014 or summer a few years ago when the phone worked? Remember, it sat broken for a few years.

OP is full of **** methinks.

Either wanting the nudes for revenge (that makes you a HORRIBLE Person)
Stolen (still a bad person!)
Found (not so bad, but still shady)
On drugs (confused, so possible, but still bad person)
Habitual liar.

Seeing how the last option could still apply to any of these scenarios, we must assume that anything OP says is a lie.

Maybe there is no phone at all.

Troll... Well played, OP.

Are you implying he stole an ancient iPhone? Jesus, some people on here...

Assuming you haven't recreated your iTunes library (which nobody does), just plug it in and sync with your iTunes library.

It doesn't need to be restored, just synced with the same iTunes library it used to use.

If you don't have the same library, you could pull it from a time machine backup or something.

This thread makes me wonder, I have never connected my iphone to a computer, I have never used itunes, I have no backups, will I still be able to retrieve my passcode somehow if I ever forger it?

My biggest problem is that two years ago, summer 2012 when it last worked before battery de soldering, I do sync it to my laptop. But since I man idiot and screwed up my laptop a couple of times, now I'm on Linux rather than windows, and obviously iphone thinks it's a brand new computer.

And to that guy who think I'm lying- no. I had this phone for over 5 years, and had a lot of pictures of her, as well as pictures during summer I took. It's kind of like being sentimental but I just wanted some help because I thought some people are smart enough. Obviously people like you came up and decided to joke. Good one buddy, now go play some flappy bird while I get my stuff done :)

Yeah but it's an iPhone 2G it's not A4.
And mind you guys, the phone is jailbroken, if that can help.......

I guess people only steal brand new items. Or never try to get into other peoples stuff I guess.
People on here....
If I setup a passcode on my device I wouldnt just forget it. Maybe he found it or who knows what. If it was really my phone I wouldn't have a problem getting in that's for sure.

The compatibility list shows the pre-A4 devices too

If it's already jail broken, try logging in via SSH
