Help using 8GB Ram 2,1 El Capitan

Hi all. I hope someone can help me here.. I have a mac pro 2,1 I have got El Capitan running on this system, I just need a little help understand about adding 8GB stick or ram. I'm sure I read some where I don't no if its 1,1 only or 1,1 and 2,1 that you needed to update the EFI on the mac to be able to the run the full 8GB of ram or it buffers out at 6GB ..

Hope someone can help me understand this

That's what they all said.I wanted to upgrade mine to at least 32 or 64. To give it a try. It's worth trying. If it didn't work u can refund it anyway

I have seen so many different things about this so far ..
I read on the apple forum thats its will only go up to 32GB over 32GB wont be used ..

64GB. You don't need to update any EFI.

definitely 32GB (8x4GB). but I do believe @ActionableMango is correct, that it will support 64GB RAM no problem. whoever told you it maxes out at 6GB has no idea what they are talking about.
