Help using Wacom Link Plus with XDR pro display

Hi!

I get a wacom link plus to get my pc connected to the apple pro display XDR, anyone can help me to understand how to connect it? i have a rtx1080Ti and a rtx3080 i tried HDMI but wont get image, also i see the link use usb c to connect to a power source, need to be connected to power? or is passive?, thank you for your help!

HDMI on Wacom Link Plus is limited to 4K30. Use Mini DisplayPort input. Connect USB-C power input to charger or PC. Connect USB data input to PC. Connect USB-C DisplayPort Alt Mode output to XDR.

The Wacom Link Plus is limited to HBR2 link rate. I think the Belkin Charge and Sync cable can do HBR3 but that doesn't matter since the XDR display is limited to HBR2 link rate also (except when the XDR is doing dual HBR3 over Thunderbolt on macOS which PC's can't do).

GTX 1080 Ti doesn't support DSC so you'll be limited to 4K60 10bpc or 5K47 8bpc or 5K60 6bpc (but I haven't seen anyone try the latter two options).
You need RTX for DSC support (5K60 12bpc).

this because my RTX3080 and 1080Ti only have display ports, not mini, and in order to connect the wacom to the charger, can i use the IPAD usb C cable and charger?, thank you! your answer help me a lot!

Yes the DisplayPort to Mini DisplayPort cable should work. And the iPad USB-C charger.

I get the DP cable and finally works! with gtx1080Ti only at 4k and rtx3080 at full 6k with HDR, the brightness control i use the set on HDR windows, my only situation is i need to connect the display port after the pc boots and enter windows, if the DP cable is attached no image at screen, in fact i always turn the screen on with the Macbook, then i switch to the PC, i left the answer for future reference. Thanks

Can the GTX 1080 Ti do 5K60 using 6bpc? Or 6K34 8bpc? For 10bpc (for HDR), you would need to go as low as 6K27. You would have to create custom timings either in Nvidia control panel or in the registry using Custom Resolution Utility (CRU). I don' think I've seen anyone test custom timings with the XDR yet.
