help videos wont play at all!!!!

when ever i try to play a video it doesn't run just nothing happens at all

and just get a error saying " This operation could not be completed an uexpected error occured error code -609"

Can you give some more details, the biggest help would be the file type, its extension (.mov, .wmv, etc.).
