Help! Vista iTunes 7.3 hangs right after launch

The thread title explains the problem.. it starts, lets me try to add a file to the library, and it suddenly stops working. I don't want to uninstall/reinstall iTunes, because I fear that it'll take all my transferred purchases AND my library.

Any solution to this? Thanks in advance.

It's not the most practical solution, but this same behaviour was the last straw that caused me to get a Mac.

I can offer no proof, but I have this wacko theory that Microsoft somehow crippled iTunes around the time the Zune came out. My MS version of iTunes was always stable and worked beautifully. Then, suddenly, around the time the Zune came out there was some Windows updates and iTunes for Windows hasn't worked right since.

It just seems strange to me.

(I would've used iTunes for Mac, if I hadn't dropped my MB :c)

The problem turned out to be the podcasts though.. I had to go into the podcast menu and stop all the downloads.
