Help W. Silent Ringtone

Without having to use the iTunes app on Windows, which I have not touched in almost 4 yrs, is there any way to use just my iPhone to get a silent ringtone?

I have checked and it appears the only way is to purchase one, which I can but is there any free alternative way or is it via iTunes program only?

You need an audio file in the right format with the right file extension. import it to iTunes and make sure it shows up a s ringotne. Then sync to your iPhone. No need to pay.
