I've been working on this issue since getting my first Apple last month. I can't come up with a perfect solution; maybe you can?
I have Windows XP with Outlook at work, and at home I have Office 2004 (in addition to iCal and Mail, of course). I want to keep the Calendar, To Do and Contacts on both machines synchronized (Notes would be a bonus, but not critical). How can I do it?
I have a BlackBerry and a Treo 600. Neither get it done well enough for me. The BlackBerry doesn't sync with a Mac at all. Epicad's Sync Again may soon be a good solution for me, but it isn't right now. PocketMac for BlackBerry recently came out, but I tried that and I've already requested a refund. Palm OS devices, including the Treo 600, don't do it because they only carry one mailing address (also true of a BlackBerry). What happens is an address eventually ends up getting deleted on one of the computers.
Given the limitations of those devices, my next thought is a mobile phone, but I am open to any suggestions. I would like the device to carry as much data as possible, but more importantly, I can't have it cause me to lose data. In other words, if the device doesn't include a second mailing address, that's OK, but I can't have the absence of a second address mean that second address gets deleted on my desktop (which is what happens with my Palm). I also need to have approximately 850 contacts stored, and as many calendar itmes as necessary. From what I've read, there seems to be a limitation of around 500 contacts in the phones, but I've never been able to get a straight answer from anyone on that.
If you can offer any advice, or point me in a direction I'm not thinking about, I'd be really grateful. Thanks.
