ok, my GF's house plant deceased while in my care. the autopsy is unconclusive so I deny any wrongdoing. that stupid plant could have said something about needing water.....

anyway, I would like to switch it to a identical living version before tuesday.

but i don't know what kind of weed this is. you can not smoke it. the only surviving pics are these.

Please help and let me know what it is and where to get it.

Thanks!

It's some kind of orchid. Too bad you don't have a picture of the flowers as orchids are incredibly diverse. It's going to be next to impossible to find an identical plant.

As long as you don't kill her pet or kid by forgetting to feed and water them, I'm sure she will understand you are cursed with a black thumb and quite deadly to plants and should be watched around kids and pets until you can be proved capable.

thanks, i think it is an orchid. it didn't blossom in the last 4 years so i think i get away with getting a similar orchid and make sure it will never blossom.

I think you should just fess up to what happened. Tell her you'll buy her another one to replace it, and take her to dinner as a makeup present.

I'm not a botanist but looking at the photo, the plant doesn't seem "dead" like dead.
Certainly thirsty, though.
AFAIK, Orchids are pretty resilient.

Edit: Hmm... or do you mean those were photos before?

if these are the photos of the current state of your orchid, it's not dead by any means.
most common orchids needs very frequent watering by immersion, because typically the 'dirt' they grow in is not dirt and it doesn't retain much water.

just remove the dead leaves, put it in the sink, soak it in water, drip the excess water and place it back in a shadowy area. repeat every couple of days.
also, gently re-direct the roots to inside the vase. be gentle as they break easily.

if it is fully dead 9or even if it is not), on the other hand, got to a flower shop and buy her a new orchid in full bloom. she'll appreciate.

Apparently not "dude". Our friend with the 138 IQ managed to miss it. Cool gimmick attitude though.

I normally don't read threads before I post in them. Character flaw, I suppose.
EDIT: and for simple 'answer the question' type threads, I normally don't even read them after I post. I occasionally check if people quote me, but if the subject doesn't interest me, then I don't devote any extra time to it.
