So, my widgets are gone. Out of the blue, they just stopped working. When I do F12, the screen turns dark but no widgets come up. When I try to access the widget manager, it pops up but disappears before any widget list comes up. If I click on a widget from the widget dock it also disappears just after popping up.

Any ideas on how to fix this? I would hate to have to reinstall Tiger just to get my widget working again. Thanks.

I doubt a reinstall will be necessary. As a start, find a file named com.apple.dashboard.plist in your Preferences folder and drag it to the Desktop before restarting the Mac. :)

Just out of interest, what changes have you made to your system recently that may have caused this (albeit accidentally)?
