Help wiping iPhones

I have two older iPhones I think a 6s and and 7 ? They are my wife’s old phones , she can’t remember the 4 digit passcodes for the phones but has the Apple ID , but can’t figure out how to wipe it , hooking it up to my pc/iTunes the phone asks for 4 digit password to use usb accessories , how do I factory reset these phones without the 4 digit passcode ?

Without knowing exactly which version iOS is installed on each, you'll have to try the following -

If you forgot your iPhone passcode or your iPhone is disabled - Apple Support

Locked out of your iPhone and forgot your passcode? Use a computer to put your iPhone into recovery mode so you can erase your phone and set it up again.

Put the phones into recovery mode.

If you can't update or restore your iPhone or iPod touch - Apple Support

You can put your iOS device in recovery mode, then restore it using your computer.
