Hello,

I was wondering if anyone could help me out with my 1st generation ipod touch. I want to download apps for my 1st generation ipod touch but it looks like I need to buy the 3.0 upgrade first.

Do you know if I do upgrade, will it enable me to download apps? How do you download apps to a 1st generation touch?

Any thoughts will really help!

Thank you!!

The App Store is present in any version of iPhone OS 2.x and up. You will not need to upgrade to iPhone OS 3.x to download apps, though you may want to so you can have full functionality. If you are unable to update the device for free from iTunes, call Apple to purchase the operating system itself. If you download iPhone OS 2.x or iPhone OS 3.x, you can update to iPhone OS 3.1.3, but not to iOS 4.x.
