Greetings.

I'm pulling my hair out trying to finish a trackpad replacement on a 2011 MacBook air that otherwise works fine.

I can get some "give" on the trackpad, but no adjustment I make to the set screw, or to the 6 little screws across the top, seems to give me any "click." I've followed the guide on iFixIt (Macsales does it better--they show you how to put the damn this back together!) and watched the video about a million times. Here's the written guide: https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/MacBook+Air+13-Inch+Mid+2011+Trackpad+Replacement/9302

I've read through these threads:
https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/fix-trackpad-not-clicking.1845271/
https://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/141164/Trackpad+"Depth"+Sensitivity+Screw+Replacement

Any other suggestions? How exactly is the trackpad supposed to be positioned? What's the mechanism that allows for the click?

Thanks for any help you can offer.
