Hi Guys,

Thanks for even just looking at this thread!

I bought a Gateway FPD2275W 22' external display about a year ago to work with my Xbox 360. Since then I have been trying to hook up my macbook (intel core 2 duo) to it with bad results. I have OS X 10.5.5 installed and am unable to run the Display at its native 1680*1050 at 60Hz resolution. The highest resolution I can get it to run at is 1360*768 at 60Hz. It wont display anything when I set the resolution to 1680*1050. The monitor doesnt go into sleep (which im guessing means it is receiving a signal). I am using a mini DVI to DVI converter attached to my macbook and the DVI input goes directly into the monitor.

HELP!

Thanks again!

Update:

I have been googling around and reading older posts on macrumors. I am beginning to understand the issue but have not been able to find a fix. I understand that while using the 'mirror' mode the external display tries to copy the macbook's resolution (right?) - so im using the spanning option. It still wont go higher than 1360*768. The next lower option it works at is 1024*768 -(NOT stretched - regular)!

:)
