I am pretty new in mac and i download the AdiumX application how good is it?, now a window pop saying this

Growl Installation Recommended

Adium uses the Growl notification system to provide a configurable interface to display status changes, incoming messages and more.

It is strongly recommended that you allow Adium to automatically install Growl; no download is required.

Do I really need to install that what is it? !!! help help help!!!!

Growl is just a helper application that some find useful
Feel free to not install it
It won't impact your performance one way or the other

As stated in the OP's first post, it is a notification app
It can be configured in the System Preferences once installed
Some find it useful, but it is not necessary

Honestly, I'd recommend you install Growl. It's very useful, as many applications tie into it, such as Firefox and Transmission. It can do things like let you know when downloads begin and end, when new versions of software are available, etc.

Even if you do not like Growl with Adium ( like me ) you can always turn off the adium support (in system preferences).

I love Growl when used with Transmission though.
A nice 2 second notification once something is done downloading/seeding.
Very nice if you full screen everything you do. :)

cheers
