help with airport exreem

hi, sometimes my internet gets really slow, a fried at work mentioned to clear and reset my airport extreem every now and then, how do i do that?
will it do any thing?

Set security to WPA2

Unplug it for 15 seconds, then plug it back in.

Use an utility to see if other networks are interferring (are the same channel), change channel if needed.

If all your devices can do N, set it to 5.0ghz N only.
