Basically what i'm trying to do is use custom png icons for apps. it works well but when the app is placed on the dock, it shows an annoying black background. I was following this thread for help,

https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/918685/

Post # 8 on that thread seemed to figure it out but was not very specific. i'm wondering if any one knows what changed need to made in the "System/Library/Coreservices/Springboard.app" folder to make those annoying black background go away. If you take a look at the pic on post 8 in the above thread, that's basically what i'm trying to get to. Any help would be greatly appricated. Thanks in advance.

there should be a file in the sprinboard.apps folder named something like icondockshadow@2x~iphone.png if you change that to .png.bak it should remove the shadows for the docked apps

I'm not sure if that's the exact name of the file, but its close

it was "wallpapericondockshadow". THANK YOU SOOOOOOO MUCH!! you have no idea how long that's been driving me crazy. Thanks again.
