With all the talk about how bad CS2 runs under emulation, with the opposing view being that it wasn't benchmarked with sufficient memory, I thought I would volunteer to try this out since I have a 17" iMac with 2GB RAM.
Not being what Mac users consider a "Pro" (although I'm a professional software engineer, and a computer "power user") I don't have Photoshop CS2 and have no intention of buying it. However, I did download the Adobe 30 day trial (307MBytes of it), which I'm guessing is pretty much a fully functional version.
Also, I don't have a G5 to compare to, but I do have a 2.26GHz P-M laptop with 2GB RAM, so I'm going to download the PC trial version too (another 300MB ... sigh) and compare the two.
However, since I know nothing about Photoshop, I would like some details on how exactly to test this. I know CS2 has single thread and multithread aware actions (from reading benchmarks), so I would like suggestions on what to do to test all this thoroughly.
Edit: first benchmark, it takes 22 seconds to open.
